Head of the Union Party and Former Minister Abdel Rahim Murad assured that "the speech of caretaker Prime Minister Saad Hariri targeting the resistance and its arms, is rejected, and cannot be accepted at all." He further sadi "When Hariri says no to the resistance arms, he is saying yes to "Israel" and to a new 17 May agreement," stressing that the resistance is what deters any "Israeli" aggression from being launched on Lebanon, and that it is the source of security to the Lebanese.

On another note, Murad considered that what is happening in Libya is the responsibility of the Arab countries concerning the massacres the Libyan regime has been committing. He also expressed his fear on the "connivance of the Libyan regime with the United States in preparation for an American invasion of Libya." Murad called on the Libyan people to resist any intervention or US occupation to their country.
