Hoss: Call against Resistance Arms Means Lebanon Open to “Israeli” Enemy Violations
Local Editor
Former PM Salim Hoss assured that one of the indices that the Special Tribunal for Lebanon is politicized is that its indictment is subject to pressure which is why its issuance is being procrastinated without any reasonable justifications.
In the same context, Hoss said "We were late in revealing that the Special Tribunal for Lebanon is illegitimate and unconstitutional, as the tribunal was formed with an international resolution issued by the UN Security Council."
Hoss lambasted the anti-resistance arms slogans some raise in the country in their political battle. "The call for dropping the resistance arms raises many questions, particularly because the arms are targeted at the Zionist enemy and therefore it is a defense weapons," Hoss added.
"This means the weapon is used when Lebanon needs to protect itself against "Israeli" aggressions, and this call to drop the weapons means that Lebanon would be open to "Israeli" attacks and aggressions. Defending Lebanon and the Lebanese is a legitimate right in confrontation with the "Israeli" enemy." The former PM pointed out.
In this context, he added "The call to let go the resistance arms is not correct at all especially in face of the arrogant "Israeli" enemy which does not hesitate in launching the harshest attacks on Lebanon. The (resistance) arms in Lebanon were a deterrent force in face of the "Israeli" enemy and its repetitive attacks on our country in the past period."
