Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri expressed wonder over the instigating speech adopted by March 14 camp and the unjustified attack against the resistance. He considered "This attitude reflects one of the signs of sectarian regime that blinds people and pushes some towards attacking the resistance arms from a narrow sectarian angle."

In a statement to As-Safir newspaper, Berri pointed out in an example "The large number of affiliates to the French Resistance against the German occupation were communists, while the majority of the French people opposed communism, still the French people stood by the resistance and appreciated its sacrifices and over passes sectarian categories." He added "But in Lebanon, some ignore the giving and accomplishments of the Resistance and have fallen into a campaign that leads to nowhere, because the resistance arms will remain until the liberation of all the Lebanese occupied land, and will defend Lebanon in case of any "Israeli" aggression."

Berri underscored that "Events are about to over pass the national dialogue table which was useful in reducing internal tension and had kept communication open between the different political leaderships."
As for the strategic defense level, Berri said "concerning the level of strategic defense, we can confidently say that it is over, and that the strategy has been determined since the Saad Hariri government approved its ministerial statement on the tripartite equation of "Army-People-Resistance", which represents the best defense strategy."

Also, Berri commented on the 14 March attack on the resistance arms, "Can anyone believe that the resistance arms put pressure on PM-Designate Najib Mikati and Minister Mohammad Safadi as well as MP Ahmad Karameh?"Berri questioned.

In another context, Berri said "The most bizarre" issue was former PM Saad Hariri accusing PM-Designate Najib Mikati of treachery, noting that head of the Future Movement (Saad Hariri) ignores the fact that Mikati allied with him during the last parliamentary elections.
