Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said Wednesday that "Iran's reaction to any US probable military invasion, Tehran's response would certainly be crushing."
Talking to reporters in Bolivia, the minister said the US sanctions against independent states including Iran and Venezuela are indications of its desperation. He further elaborated that the sanctions are "inexcusable and unreasonable."
Asked whether sanctions have had any negative impact on the Islamic Republic, Vahidi said that not only they had no negative effects but also the West's sanctions resulted in further progress of the Islamic Republic in various areas.
