Turkey's Foreign Minister Ahmad Davut Oglu on Friday wished Syria would make reforms in stability and come out of the current stage stronger than before.
"Turkey will do its best in assisting Syria to achieve that," Davut Oglu said in statements to reporters quoted by Anadol News Agency.

Turkey: Positive Signals towards the Syrian Neighbor

We closely followed speech of President Bashar al-Assad. There are affirmative elements in the speech meaning signs of reform. However, implementation of them, with concrete steps, is important." Davut Oglu said, adding that contact with Syria has never interrupted in this regard.

The Minister underlined that the "Syrian-Turkish relations are stronger than the neighborhood relations", stressing that "we have kinship ties along the whole borders and that the relations between Turkey and Syria have improved a lot in the past ten years."
"Our country doesn't consider the Syrians in the camps as refugees but as guests who can return to their homes when they want." Oglu clarified

Mean while, the Turkish Presidential Advisor Ersat Hurmuzlu described the Syrian-Turkish relations as firm, solid, and unaffected by events.
Emphasizing that "Syria represents a historical, strategic, cultural and religious depth to Turkey," Hurmuzlu viewed "the power of Turkey as part of the region's power, that's why we care that the countries of the region be strong and independent and meet the aspirations of their own peoples."
