Iranian UN Envoy Urges International Pressure on “Israel” to Join NPT
The Iranian Ambassador to the UN Mohammad Khazaei stated that the US has developed its missiles and war systems in order to gain a superior level in strategic equations over the European and South Asian countries that possess nuclear weapons.
In this context, Khazaei indicated that the US in this regard has violated its obligations in the Nuclear non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Review Conference set in 2000 and 2010, IRNA reported.
On another hand, During a meeting on Thursday with the UN Disarmament and International Security Committee, Khazaei urged the international community's concern to "Israel's" continuous refusal to join the NPT, and place its nuclear facilities under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Furthermore, Iran's UN Ambassador affirmed that since its establishment, the "Israeli" entity has been invading and threatening regional countries.
"Such bullying postures bear witness to the "Israeli" threat and that possession of nuclear weapons by such regimes jeopardizes international peace and security", Khazaei reiterated.
Moreover, he urged the UN to exert more effort to pressure Tel Aviv into joining the NPT so that eventually, there would be a nuke-free Middle East; something everyone is hoping for.
