The STL Asks Mirza’s Statement, Jeitta Failed the Seven Wonders
There, where symphony of love is played on the wings of covenant and martyrdom was the meeting.
From the determination of victory emerged the words and from the act of loyalty
was the pledge.
Your blood is our divine faithfulness and your resistance is preserved with honesty, will, and patience.
In the size of the event was the promise from the man of honest words and to the enemy a clear message: we are able to change the equations in the era of victory and resistance.
Nasrallah: Lebanon Not Weak
Hizbullah's Secretary General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah warned the United States and "Israel" Friday that any regional war on Iran or Syria will engulf the entire region.
In his speech delivered in "Martyr's Day", Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that "they must understand well that a war on Iran and a war on Syria will not be confined to Iran or Syria. This war will roll over throughout the entire region. These are realistic calculations. This is the real situation."
"All speculations and analyses about a possible "Israeli" war on Lebanon are aimed at intimidation. We rule out this possibility, not because "Israel", the US and the international community are generous, but because of a very simple reason: Lebanon is not weak anymore," His Eminence reassured.
Moving on to internal situation, Sayyed Nasrallah said "This government has proven to be a government of dialogue and a national government that represents a parliamentary and popular majority and that it's not a one-sided government. But it is demanded to work more and to give the ultimate attention to people's concerns instead of listening to useless things."
On the funding of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, Sayyed Nasrallah said that "it is useful to notice that the UNESCO, which is an international organization, has acknowledged the state of Palestine, drawing the United States' anger because it has granted Palestine some of its rights, and that the US has suspended funds to UNESCO, although UNESCO was not established in an illegal and unconstitutional manner like the STL."
Reiterating that Hizbullah will continue dealing with STL as if it doesn't exist, he pointed out that most of the "March 14" forces did not comment on the issue of suspending UNESCO funds.
"If Lebanon decides not to fund the unconstitutional and bogus tribunal, Feltman starts to threaten Lebanon with sanctions, which exposes the US and its allies in Lebanon," His Eminence noted.
STL Hits Judiciary Sovereignty:
Meanwhile, the STL's Prosecutor Daniel Bellemare struck Friday the Lebanese judiciary sovereignty through emphasizing to listen to the Lebanese Prosecutor General Said Mirza's testimony in Hague.
Daniel Bellemare was not present at the session citing health concerns, which have become known. His representative Morley requested to hear Attorney General Said Mitza's statement to make sure that he has taken all measures needed to arrest those accused.
"There are difficulties in Lebanon ... which make affecting the location and arrest of defendants problematic," claimed.
In parallel, the Head of the Defense Office Francois Roux told STL judges that arrest warrants violated suspects' rights under international law.
No Syrians Kidnapped in Lebanon
At another Lebanese concern, the government approved a draft law Friday to ban MPs from serving as ministers excluding the prime minister, in a move seen as part of political reforms in the country's sectarian power-sharing system.
Article 28 of the constitution, which was amended after passing the law, now states that "the MP who is appointed as a minister after a new government is formed, is considered resigned from parliament," Acting Information Minister Wael Abu Faour said.
Ministers also tackled a draft electoral law agreeing to hold another session next
Wednesday to discuss the bill.
Addressing the meeting, Lebanese President Michel Suleiman denied reports that Syrian opposition figures have been abducted in Lebanon.
"Al-Akhbar" Lebanese newspaper reported that "Suleiman asserted that all military chiefs with whom he met stressed that all these rumors are untrue."
In turn, PM Najib Mikati emphasized that the Higher Relief Council and the Ministry of Social Affairs have never stopped offering aid to the Syrian displaced.
In the same context, "as-Safir" Lebanese newspaper quoted a political Lebanese figure who confirmed that the campaign against the army conceals several points that start with aiming at pressing the army to turn a blind eye on certain security developments as well as showing that this army is unable to preserve the Lebanese sovereignty."
At another level, Lebanese hearts sank Friday on the news that their celebrated cavern, Jeita Grotto, failed to secure a spot among the new 7 Natural Wonders of the World competition.
"Unfortunately the provisional results did not reflect the joy in your faces," Nabil Haddad, the general manager at Jeita.
PM Mikati said that Jeita's progress to the final round of the competition would assure the grotto's place as a leading tourist destination, despite the fact that it failed to secure a spot in the top seven.
"This proves once again that this country has been blessed by wonders that need to be preserved," Mikati said.
