Mehmanparast: US Concerned About Losing Political, Military Power in the Region
Iranian Foreign Ministry's spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast stated that the US is concerned about losing its political and military powers in the region.
Mahmanparast also added that the developments recently witnessed in the region endangered the interests of Washington and Tel Aviv.
"A look at regional and international developments shows that they are rooted in the strategic mistakes of the West and the US", ISNA quoted him as saying.
Regarding the US propaganda campaigns launched against Iran over issues like terrorism, human rights, and the nuclear program, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman noted that the Iranian people and officials have gained valuable experience in fighting political and economic pressure over the past three decades.
"US and Western economic pressure and sanctions against Iran have only led the strengthening of spirit of self-sufficiency and self-reliance in the country", Mehmanparast added.
Moreover, he indicated that while some European countries and the US are facing economic crises, Iran has witnessed major economic development projects with the help of its nations.
Also, Mehmanparast stressed that all western efforts to "monopolize technology and sow discord among regional countries will bear no fruit".
