Syrian Army: Terrorists Assassinated 6 Pilots, 4 Officers
The Syrian armed forces announced Friday that six elite military pilots have been killed in an ambush.
In a statement published at official SANA news agency, the Syrian Army mentioned that the attack happened the day before at Palmyra-Homs province road.
The General Command of the Syrian Army unveiled that the terrorist group carried out a vicious assassination operation which led to the martyrdom of six pilots, one technical officer and three technical sub-officers of a military airbase.
"This is a direct attack on the officers who were qualitatively trained in piloting modern military aircrafts and prepared to carry out the sacred duty of liberating the land and restoring the usurped rights," the statement said describing the attack as "a dangerous terrorist escalation."
Viewing that "the attack uncovers the plot's real face which targets basically the Syrian Army," the statement added that "the terrorist attack shows foreign interference and involvement in supporting these terrorist operations aiming at undermining the capabilities of the Armed Forces."
As the Syrian Army considered "the terrorist act a service to the enemies, on the top of which is "Israel"," it stressed its "determination to carry out all tasks as well as readiness to defend the security of land and citizens."
