"Israeli" Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the occupation municipality in al-Quds (Jerusalem) and the Zionist Public Security Ministry to delay the demolition order for the Mugrabi Bridge that connects the Western Wall to the holy al-Aqsa mosque, Haaretz newspaper reported.

According to "Israeli" official sources, the decision, which was adopted last Friday, delayed the demolition one week after it was scheduled to be destructed last Saturday.
In this context, Haaretz indicated that what prompted Netanyahu's decision were the site's sensitivity, as well as the Egyptian warnings that the said step would trigger rage among Tahrir Square protesters, and therefore their focus would be an anti-"Israel" protest.

Not only that, but many factions in the Arab and Muslim world warned the "Israeli" entity from executing such a step, saying it would cause a wave of international anti-"Israel" protests.
The Zionist daily added that Netanyahu is expected to hold discussions to find methods to resolve this issue.

"Israel" claims that wooden Mugrabi Bridge which connects the Western Wall square to one of al-Aqsa mosque entrances is about to collapse, therefore it seeks to build a metal bridge that would allow Zionist troops to enter the mosque in case of any clashes between Palestinians and Zionist troops.
