Iranian Students Burn UK Flag After Storming Into Embassy
After a bill was approved aiming at downgrading ties with the UK by the Iranian Parliament, hundreds of Iranian students from different universities broke into the British embassy in Tehran.
Students stormed into the embassy and pulled down the UK flag and burned it, demanding the explosion of the British envoy in Tehran. They also called upon the Iranian government to hasten in implementing the bill.
Also, the Iranian students installed the Iranian flag on the embassy's door, chanting anti-US, anti-UK, and anti-"Israel" slogans.
According to sources, the UK Embassy's staff escaped the break in through an back exit in the embassy.
The bill, which was approved recently, obliges the Iranian Foreign Minister to expel Ambassador Dominick John Chilcott within two weeks, therefore reducing ties with the UK.
