Norway has closed its embassy in Tehran after UK evacuated its mission in the Iranian capital as some protesters stormed into the embassy.

Meanwhile, Iranian Parliament's Speaker Ali Larijani warned the British government not to try to manipulate the protest gathering of Iranian university students.
Criticizing the hasty act of the United Nations Security Council in condemning the gathering, Larijani said "the act of the university students was inspired by their wrath towards the expansionist policies of the UK government towards Iran during the past decades. "

"United Nation's Security Councils hasty action was an attempt to cover up the crimes committed by Washington and London in Iran," he stressed.
The Iranian speaker further assessed the hasty act of the US and UK as an opportunistic behavior and stressed that the recent bill ratified by the Parliament to reduce level of ties with the UK would certainly be implemented.

Meanwhile, Norway's diplomatic staff is still in Tehran and no decision has been taken to evacuate them, foreign ministry spokeswoman Hilde Steinfeld.
"The embassy was closed Tuesday after the attack on the British embassy," she said.

The diplomatic staff, which consists of a handful of Norwegian citizens, is still in Tehran, she said.

Asked about a possible evacuation, she said "it has been evaluated, but for now no such measure has been taken."
