Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast stated that the electoral victory of Islamic Parties' candidates in the Middle East has horrified the western countries.

"This matter has frightened the Americans and "Israelis", and we must not allow their schemes in the region to deviate the nations' movements", Mehmanparast affirmed on Saturday.
According to ISNA, Mehmanparast stressed, "The Western powers want to portray Iran as the main threat, they want to show that we are the cause of insecurity and instability in the region".

Moreover, Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman clarified that the western attempts aim at "spreading Iranophobia" in order to provoke conflict between Iran and other countries in the Middle East.
Referring to the expulsion of the Iranian mission from the UK, Mehmanparast iterated that the US and its allies accuse Iran of breaking the law, while provoking embassies in Iran to reconsider their ties with Tehran.

Mehmanparast's remarks came in light of a UK decision to expel the Iranian diplomatic mission following an Iranian decision to decrease diplomatic presence of the UK from ambassador to chargé d'affaires.
