As the US successive defeats are being unveiled day after day in dealing with Iran, the latter succeeded in foiling the latest American espionage attempt resembled by establishing a virtual embassy to Tehran.
The US launched its online embassy for Iranians on Tuesday, following an October 26 announcement by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton about Washington's decision to run the website.
A day after its launch, Iranian authorities blocked the virtual embassy.
Iranian parliamentary speaker Ali Larijani said shortly afterwards that the online embassy plan would fail, and accused the Zionist lobby in the US of being behind the project.
"Such efforts should not be taken seriously as they reflect solely the lack of US political awareness that such moves would merely strengthen unity in Iran," Larijani stressed.
"These efforts are also aimed at covering up internal problems in the Democratic Party before the US presidential elections next year," the speaker added.
For his part, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast announced that "launching of the US virtual embassy in Tehran indicates that Washington has admitted its big mistake of cutting off relations with the Iranian nation."
He reiterated that such a virtual initiative will not compensate for the US big mistake and therefore will not transfer Washington's message to the Iranian people.
He advised the US authorities to take lessons from their past mistakes and change their approach towards the great Iranian nation.
