Syrian President Bashar al-Assad stressed that "Damascus is able to overcome the current events and that it won't ever give up its stances, principles and sovereignty whatever the pressures may be."

Meeting a Lebanese clergymen delegation of the Unitarian Druze community, al-Assad assured that "Syria is strong thanks to its people and the support of the brotherly and friendly people."

He also expressed appreciation for the delegation's national stance which stemmed from their keenness on cooperation and fraternity relations between Syria and Lebanon and their rejection of any foreign interference in the internal affairs of the two countries.

In response, the delegation members emphasized "their standing by Syria's people and leadership to overcome the conspiracy aimed at fragmenting Syria and the whole region."

Lebanese MP Talal Arslan considered that "the war against Syria is a practical manifestation of the sustainable war targeting the Arab nation," adding that "the main goal is to destroy Syria, the fortress of the Arab Nation, as it never gives up the Arab rights."

"Imperialist countries should make structural reforms to their systems before teaching lessons to others," Arslan said.

Similarly, Sheikh Akl of the Unitarian Druze community, Sheikh Nasreddine al-Gharib viewed that "Syria will come out triumphant from the crisis."

"It would have been better if the Arab League met to take decisions against "Israel" aiming at punishing its siege, defending the Palestinian people and protecting the sanctities instead of attacking Syria whose killing mistake was that it never made peace with "Israel", " he clarified.
