Wilayati: Syria’s al-Assad Regime, A Guarantee for Axis of Resistance
Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei' Foreign Affairs Adviser Ali Akbar Wilayati confirmed his country's firm and steadfast support to Syria's Bashar al-Assad regime, which he regarded as a "guarantee for the axis of resistance."
In a press conference, Wilayati expressed his hope that Syria overcomes, as soon as possible, the crisis imposed on it by the west.
"We should not forget that Syria is present deep in the history of the Arab and Islamic resistance, and it remains as it was forty years ago; a forge against foreign conspiracies in this region, and it will remain as such, and no one will be able to deteriorate it or lead to its collapse", Wilayati iterated.
Moreover, Wilayati indicated, "There are regional powers that are triggering inciting against Bashar al-Assad's regime; like Turkey, Qatar and Saudi Arabia."
The Iranian official confirmed, "It would be best for those countries not to their fate to the schemes of this ongoing international conspiracy against Syria, because those who tie themselves to the ropes of this conspiracy will fall in the well it has been building for Damascus."
Wilayati confirmed his country's confidence that Bashar al-Assad's government has overcome the climax of the surrounding crisis, and that it is now heading towards the final victory against the Zionist-US agents in the region.
Iranian Supreme Leader's adviser described the so-called leader of the Syrian opposition, Burhan Ghalyoun, as a "cheep, bad, and miserable tool for Zionism and colonialism".
He further clarified, "Although Iran respects the Syrian people's demands for reform, which were met by the Syrian regime, we believe that all what's occurring in Syria is a conspiracy planned and funded by suspicious foreign, international, and regional parties, which do not seek any good for the Syrian people known for their anti-Zionist stances."
