Thousands of Syrians Hold Pro-Assad Rallies

Thousands of Syrian citizens on Sunday headed to the streets of the Syrian capital Damascus, voicing support to the Syrian regime that has been the target of a foreign agenda.
Large masses poured to the main square in Sayyedah Zainab City in the Damascus Countryside, in support to the independent national decision and to the comprehensive reform program.
According to Syrian state-run news agency SANA, the participants affirmed rejection of the foreign interference in Syria's internal affairs, stressing adherence to the national unity.
They held the national flag and banners expressing determination to stand in the face of whoever tries to undermine the homeland, and denounced the acts of killing and sabotage perpetrated by the armed terrorist groups backed by foreign bodies.
Furthermore, the agency reported that they condemned the acts of media
provocation and mobilization by some satellite channels with the aim of spreading chaos and undermining the security and stability enjoyed by Syria.
In the same context, a large number of citizens gathered in al-Hijaz Square in Damascus to express rejection of all forms of foreign interference in Syria's internal affairs, asserting adherence to the independent national decision.
Syria has been experiencing unrest since mid-March, with demonstrations being held both against and in favor of the head of state.
