Iraqi 1st Military Parade since US Withdrawal
The parade included shows by cavaliers and anti-terrorists squads.
In a first such event since US humiliating withdrawal from the country, Iraqi capital Baghdad witnessed Friday a military parade, marking the Iraqi Army 91st Anniversary.
Troops, armored units and heavy weapons passed in front of a stand manned by Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki and senior political and military leaders, during the show held within the heavily-guarded "green zone," while all roads leading to the area were shut.
It was held near the site of the unknown martyr.
Inside, Iraqi flags of all sizes were on display throughout, as well as a large banner that read, "Side-by-side, to build and save Iraq".
