Ground Forces Commander: Iran to Deploy Most Advanced Equipment in Next Maneuvers
The Commander of Iran's Ground Forces Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan announced on Tuesday that his country is planning to deploy the most advanced military equipment in the country's upcoming maneuvers.
General Pourdastan indicated that the major drills will be launched in eastern Iran by the second half of February.
"In this maneuver, the latest combat equipment and systems of the Ground Forces as well as the modern tactics in group operation will be evaluated", the Iranian Commander further indicated.
This comes after Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps' (IRGC) Ground Forces successfully concluded on Monday their military drills entitled Shohaday-e Vahdat "Martyrs of Unity", in eastern Iran.
Among the major goals of the maneuvers were spreading security along the Iranian eastern border areas, promoting defense and combat capabilities of the IRGC Ground Forces.
The military exercises were launched on Saturday, after the Iranian navy forces staged a 10-day massive drill near the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf.
