In an annual report submitted to the Security Council on Wednesday tackling the humanitarian and human rights situation in the occupied territories, the UN stated that the "Israeli" siege on the Gaza Strip" is an act of collective punishment, and directly impacts the daily lives of more than 1.6 million Palestinians living in the impoverished area".

The report was prepared upon a Palestinian request, and found that there is a 30% increase in the number of Palestinians who are impacted by the "Israeli" policies in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, in comparison to the percentage of 2010, the International Middle East Media Center reported.
Also, the Palestinians living in Gaza are having more hardship even when it comes to basic life needs as food supplies.

Moreover, the UN report affirmed that the "Israeli" enemy is still enforcing the siege on the Gaza Strip, indicating that this "siege is an act of collective punishment as it impacts all aspects of life".
The report also noted the severe restrictions imposed by "Israel" on Gaza's fishermen and farmers, and on the freedom of movement of people and food, which has caused health and educational repercussions.

Regarding the West Bank area, the report described it as a "complex situation" in the occupied city of al-Quds (Jerusalem) due to the increase in home demolitions, and "the fact that residents have become more isolated from the West Bank.
On this level, the UN report called upon the "Israeli" enemy and international community to assure the respect of human rights regulations as stated in all international laws and conventions.
