Patriarch al-Rai: Cooperation, Equality to be Maintained Among Lebanese According to Constitution

The Maronite Patriarch Bechara al-Rai confirmed that cooperation, equality and equilibrium between all spectrums of the Lebanese community should be maintained in accordance with the constitution.
He added that renaissance in Lebanon is a mutual task, and every sect should acknowledge its own role and identity in this regard.
Patriarch al-Rai stressed that the value added to each sect is made up of the relation of each group with the Lebanese entity, according to stages and platforms back in its history.
Also, Patriarch al-Rai believed that it is important for each sect to take into consideration its historical national being, so that "we would be able to ratify a new social pact that would have Lebanon in a neutral [position] from the regional and international spheres".
On another hand, Patriarch al-Rai asserted that "all the martyrs who died in the sake of the country since the independence were the grain that died, and thanks to them, Lebanon grew".
Moreover, Lebanon's Maronite Patriarch indicated that the Maronites played a leading role, adding that "this made them committed to serving the unity of churches, dialogue between religions, especially Islam, dialogue on the social and national life, and dialogue on the national and fatal issues".
