Lebanese National Parties, Figures: Resistance’s Weapons a National Need

The Lebanese "Coordinating Agency of National Parties and Forces" criticized Wednesday the "not national and non-substantive rhetoric launched by the preachers of "March 14" at BIEl festival on the seventh anniversary of the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri."
Noting to the presence of US Ambassador in Lebanon Maura Connelly, the agency condemned in its statement "one of "March 14"figures' aggressive public promoting to the political message attributed to the so-called Syrian National Council."
"This included launching inciting political positions against the Syrian state and regime from the Lebanese capital, having in mind the aim of damaging the relations between the brotherly countries," the statement added.
Stressing that "such speeches are trying to turn Lebanon into a threat to the Syrian security," the national parties and figures considered that "this forms a precedent that goes far beyond free political opinion guaranteed by the Constitution and public freedoms in Lebanon."
The Agency further requested that "the competent judicial organs act to put an end to these abuses and violations of legal and constitutional norms from any party, which contribute to the expansion of the rift between the Lebanese and to sow discord for political purposes."
Reiterating the "that the resistance weapons form a national need and will remain so as long as "Israel" existed," the statement asserted that "the resistance's weapons will not be the subject of any talk after today."
