’’Israeli’’ Intelligence Minister: Breaking Iran-Syria Axis Benefits ’’Israel’’
As the West is escalating pressure on Iran and Syria, "Israeli" traces seem not to far from the conspiracy against the steadfastness axis.
"Israeli" Intelligence minister Dan Meridor stated Sunday that "the fall of Syria's President Bashar al-Assad would end an axis with Iran and its President Mahmud Ahmadinejad, benefiting "Israel"."
"There is an al-Assad-Ahmadinejad axis, a Tehran-Damascus axis," he told "Israeli" army radio pointing out that "breaking this axis would be good for "Israel"."
"We are not giving advice," he added. "Practically the whole Arab world is against the (Syrian) regime. We have to wait to see what will happen."
On Sunday, speaking before a meeting of his cabinet, "Israeli" Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned what he called "the criminal massacres against innocent civilians in Syria."
Excluding the possibility of Syrian move against "Israel", Meridor said: "I don't think that is on the agenda, but the "Israeli" army is ready to face off against all eventualities."
