Chavez Reassures Solidarity with Syria, Denounces US Interference

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez reassured his solidarity with the Syrian President Bashar al-Assar and people against the "vicious imperialistic conspiracy and attack they are facing".

"We continue lamenting the aggressions against Syria," Chavez said, "and the pressure of the United States government and many European countries, failing to recognize the sovereignty of a people such as the Syrian people."

Chavez made his remarks from the Cuban capital after his latest surgical operation, stating that although he is currently under therapy, but he is directly connected to international situation, especially in Syria.
"From here," Chavez said, "we send our solidarity to the Syrian people and to President Bashar Al-Assad."
