1,000 ’’Israeli’’ Settlers Storm Prophet Joseph’s Tomb: Nablus
Local Editor
Over 1,000 "Israeli" settlers, accompanied by Transport Minister Yisrael Katz stormed the Prophet Joseph's Tomb in Nablus at dawn on Thursday under the protection of the "Israeli" army and conducted some religious ceremonies in the site, Palestinian witnesses said.
An "Israeli" military force stormed the neighborhoods of eastern Nablus to safeguard and secure a group of settlers arrived to "Joseph's Tomb", the witnesses added.
Violent confrontation between Palestinian young men and the occupation forces also took place.
Joseph's Tomb is believed to be the site where Prophet Joseph was buried and is a holy shrine for Christians, Muslims and Jews.
Jewish settlers frequently storm the area from which the "Israeli" occupation forces withdrew in 2000 after fierce clashes with Palestinians.
