In a symposium on the "Arab Spring" held in the French Institute for International Relations (IFRI) at its center in Paris, French Researcher "Alain Dieckhoff" addressed the "Israeli" position from the Middle East developments.
Known for being intellectually and politically close to the Zionist lobby in France and in the world, Dieckhoff informed his audience that he had just arrived from Tel Aviv.

"My position is based on the follow-up of "Israeli" stances and policy since the beginning of the 2010 "Arab Spring" events in Tunisia, and its spread to more than one country in the Arab world," he clarified.

He further stressed that ""Israel" suffers a real loss concerning what is happening in the Arab world," pointing out that "it continues blaming the US, which allowed the fall of Hosni Mubarak in Egypt."

According to the French researcher, "Israeli" officials reiterate their belief that Washington shouldn't have allowed the toppling of Mubarak."
"There is a conviction among "Israeli" officials that their entity will be surrounded by countries ruled by Islamists, with unknown policy, despite the assurances sent by the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt regarding being committed to Cairo's international treaties, particularly Camp David Accords," Dieckhoff highlighted.

He also quoted "Israeli" officials as saying "the medium and long periods will be full of problems with the surrounding," reflecting that the "Israeli" officials deal with the regional developments from an exclusive security perspective.
Being close to the Zionist circles, Dieckhoff predicted that "["Israeli" Prime Minister Benjamin]Netanyahu's government will not change, and will be one of the few governments in the last two decades, which will complete its mandate without resorting to early elections."

The French researcher links his estimation to a scene of fear from the unknown that governs the "Israeli" political and popular circles."
In response to a question on "Israel's" security plans in face of what is happening he viewed that "all this will be at the expense of the settlement that the Qataris, the French, and some Arabs are calling for."

Moreover, Dieckhoff stated that "the Middle East's incidents had a negative impact on "Israelis" convinced with negotiations."
"The "Israeli" society is moving towards sclerosis in the subject, so that we will not witness a retreat at the level of Netanyahu's government with the Palestinians," he explained listing three dimensions for "Israel's" security solution:

1- The establishment of long-range missile shield with an electronic fence on the Egyptian border with occupied Palestine.

2- The establishment of a missile shield with the Gaza Strip and constantly
attacking it until invading it.

3- The establishment of a strong missile shield on the borders with Lebanon and Syria.

"This reflects that the choice of the "Israelis" is military, and not in sake of negotiations at all so that no one should dream of any progress or significant breakthrough in the peace process," the researcher mentioned.
On the "Israeli" position of the events in Syria, he asserted that ""Israeli" officials do not conceal their conviction that the fall of President Bashar al-Assad's regime will be a strategic victory for "Israel" on the resistance movements in the Arab world, particularly on Iran."

"They view that al-Assad is "Israel's" opponent who supported their enemies in the region and the world," Dieckhoff added noting that "the "Israeli" officials believe that the fall of the regime in Syria would spark a long term civil war in this country."

"As long as the civil war remained within the Syrian border, there is no problem with "Israel" that fears that this civil war becomes out of control and crosses the Syrian border to neighboring countries, which is to threaten "Israel's" "national security"," Dieckhoff reflected in his speech.

Former French Foreign minister Herve de Charette, and a number of researchers from France, Algeria, Qatar, USA, Egypt, and an official in the Renaissance Party of Tunisia delivered speeches in the conference which was attended by dozens of researchers, journalists and diplomats from several embassies, including Qatar and "Israel".
