The martyrdom of al-Jadeed TV (Lebanese New TV) cameraman, Ali Shaaban, along the Lebanese-Syrian border colored the Lebanese scene with grief and sorrow.
Family, friends and colleagues of Shabaan laid him rest in the Southern village of Maifadoun on Tuesday.

The martyr's funeral passed to al-Jadeed building in the Cola region after taking off from the hospital, and later headed to the residence of Ali' family from where it headed directly to the South.
"Loyalty to Resistance" bloc MP Hasan Fadlallah denounced the attack and called on the government to launch an investigation and bring those behind the attack to justice.
"We call on the Lebanese government to launch a probe into the incident and punish the culprits who targeted the media and its men," Fadlallah said after offering condolences to Shaaban's family in Maifadoun representing the Secretary General of Hizbullah His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
He further stressed that "the media should be free anywhere they are."
Hizbullah Media Relations issued a statement in which it denounced the attack on the Lebanese media team, considering that "the journalists are paying a tax for their courage in covering the events."
Cameraman Shaaban Laid Rest, Hizbullah Takes Part in Funeral Hizbullah Media Relations Head Ibrahim Mousawi who also was representing Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah, attended the funeral and received condolences for the martyrdom of Ali.
In parallel, "an-Nahar" daily reported that "the official authorities are keeping up with the incident through the Lebanese-Syrian joint security and military committee."  According to these sources, "the Lebanese authorities were informed Tuesday that the Syrians are attached to their account of the incident as reported by SANA, which held terrorist armed groups as responsible of the incident."
The Syrian National Media Council expressed Tuesday its regret and condolences to al-Jadeed TV staff and to the martyr's family, indicating that it valued highly the journalists' efforts and courage in covering the incidents caused by armed terrorist groups.
