Ahmadinejad: Army to Paralyze Any Aggression against Iran

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad vowed Tuesday that "Iran's Army will give a harsh and paralyzing response to any aggression on the country's interests and dignity."
Addressing a ceremony on Iran's National Army Day, Ahmadinejad referred to the "Iranian movement towards success to reach the peaks of science and technology."
"Today, the Iranian Army and its Ground and Air forces enjoy a very high level of capability and are fulfill the most vital missions with high motivation," he explained.
Ahmadinejad stated that "gaining achievements needs sustainable security that will be ensured by the brave and trained army forces."
The Iranian President further acknowledged that "though the Iranians have always been among the world's most peaceful nations, the enemies will receive a strong response for any kind of aggressions they might think of that would put them to endless shame."
He also reiterated that the Iranian army is fully ready to safeguard Iran's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Noting that the Gulf region is a highly sensitive one, he said that "the security of the region would be materialized only through collective efforts of regional countries."
"The presence of foreign forces in the region will only result in insecurity and differences," he added.
The Army Day ceremonies were held in southern Tehran close to the mausoleum of the late Founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini on.
A number of ranking Iranian militarily commanders both from the Armed Forced Headquarters and the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) attended the ceremony.
The President addressed the ceremony before units of the Iranian Army staged massive parades to display their defensive capabilities and military preparedness.
Various units of the Islamic Republic Army staged military parades in Tehran and other cities across Iran on Tuesday morning to mark the National Army Day.
