"I think your visit will have positive results," Yang further added.
Al-Moallem's visit to China comes in the framework of the high-level consultations conducted between Syria and China, highlighting a Chinese support of Syria's sovereignty and stability.
On this level, al-Moallem and Yang discussed the developments of the current situation in the Syrian arena, presenting the government's efforts to implement the reform program launched by President Bashar al-Assad. Syria's top official pointed out the escalating violence perpetrated by the armed rebel groups, including breaching their commitment to UN Envoy Kofi Annan's plan, SANA reported.

Moreover, the Chinese and Syrian officials asserted their full support to Annan's plan and its success, especially in terms of stopping all violence acts and launching national political dialogue.
Foreign Minister Yang further rebuffed unilateral sanctions imposed by some countries on Syria, confirming China's readiness to play a structural role to find a solution for this crisis in a "just, peaceful, and appropriate way."

On his part, the Syrian Foreign Minister stressed his country's leadership's and people's appreciation of the Chinese international stance in supporting Syria.
