Army Intelligence Arrests Arms’ Smugglers Heading Towards Lebanon-Syria Borders
The Lebanese Army Guidance Directorate issued a communiqué stating that Beirut's Lebanese Army Intelligence department arrested on Monday Lebanese citizens (H.A), (M.A) and Syrian citizen (M.M), for carrying weapons and anti-tank missiles on board of a pickup truck while heading towards the Lebanese-Syrian borders.
The arrested personnel were handed in, along with the seized weaponry, to the specialized court, the National News Agency reported.
In the communiqué, the Lebanese army indicated that this comes in the framework of maintaining security and stability, and combating the transfer of weaponry to Syria.
