Lebanese Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri received on Tuesday Syrian Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Abdul Karim Ali, and discussed with him the latest developments on the local and regional arenas.
Syrian Ambassador: Syria Heads towards Dialogue in Reform Steps
After the meeting, Ambassador Ali stated that he informed Speaker Berri of the steps led by President al-Assad on the level of serious, ongoing, and followed up reforms in Syria, with precautions to help make [Kofi] Annan's mission successful.
Ambassador Ali believed that his country hopes these steps would be steadfast in toughening security and revealing the identity of those messing with Syria's security, and those collaborating with them. Moreover, he hoped that all sides, which support the terrorist groups and want Syria to lose its role and position, would also be revealed.

Furthermore, Syrian Ambassador to Lebanon stressed that they [terrorist groups and collaborators] want the whole region to drown in the details sought by these [foreign] powers, as a guarantee for "Israel" and its security. "However, Thank God, things are now going opposite to what those sought," Ambassador Ali iterated.

"Syria is heading towards [...] dialogue in which all [...] who care for it and the sons of all its spectrums will participate, in order to achieve a more powerful existence that would positively reflect on Syria and its relations with its sister countries; on top of which is Lebanon," the Syrian Ambassador further indicated.
