Sheikh Qaouk: US, “Israel” Bet on Syria after Failure to Weaken Resistance

Deputy Head of Hizbullah Executive Council His Eminence Sheikh Nabil Qaouk confirmed that since 1996, "Hizbullah went on to achieve victories, and has placed the nation on the path of dignities in the years 2000 and 2006, and placed "Israel" on the path of defeats."
"The power of resistance in Lebanon increased from what it was in 2006, and instead of pushing it twenty years back as "Israel" used to claim, the resistance was able to progress thirty years forward with power, pride, will, and faith. It is becoming more and more prepared to have "Israel" witness its biggest defeat in any aggression launched on Lebanon," Sheikh Qaouk asserted.
Moreover, he added that although the resistance was subjected to all types of international pressures, it was able to continue its capabilities' enhancement, and reach the stage where it can confront any "Israeli" aggression and achieve victories.
"Because they were unable to confront the resistance and weaken it, they betted on the Syrian crisis, and then "Israel" and the US tried to change the equation and weaken the struggle front with "Israel". [...] More than a year has passed on the conspiracy in Syria, and the resistance enriched its power, pride and weapons," His Eminence iterated.
"The Syrian crisis is ongoing because there is an Arab and Foreign will to ignite the incitement in Syria, and foil [Kofi] Annan's initiative; therefore dividing Syria. Is there any interest for Lebanon or the Arabs in that?" Deputy Head of Hizbullah Executive Council wondered.
He clarified, "Hizbullah has always been on the side of the majority of the Syrian people who support reforms."
Regarding the settlement expansion in the occupied al-Quds (Jerusalem) and the West Bank, Sheikh Qaouk slammed the Arab silence asking, "Why do they convene against Syria, and not to support al-Quds (Jerusalem) and Palestine?"
"Why do they convene to conspire against Syria, and not say one word against the oppression and killing taking place in Bahrain?" Sheikh Qaouk further wondered.
