The Lebanese Defense Minister Fayez Ghosn announced Friday that "a progress has been achieved in the investigations held on the arms ship [Litfullah II] that the Lebanese army intercepted last week while heading to Syria."

"The investigations will proceed until all those who are involved in this case are unveiled and punished," Ghosn stressed.
He further urged all sides "to allow the investigations to take their course so that they won't be subjected to speculations and predictions."

"It is unacceptable to modify investigations by turning them into a topic of discussions," the minister confirmed, noting that such attempts will fail.
Ghosn also stated that "the Lebanese Army is the nation's watchful eye as it is the only side capable of defending Lebanon and its borders, thwarting strife, and preserving security."

"All sides must be responsible before the military institution through providing it with all the needed political and financial support so that the LA is enable to perform its duties throughout the country," the minister said.
