Head of the Lebanese Democratic Party, Talal Areslan, called upon all politicians and figures in North Lebanon to tackle the current situation in Akkar and the North, believing that the recent events do not serve that area and its people.
In this context, Areslan noted that the people of the North have always supported the Lebanese army; which is the safety valve for Lebanon, its stability and security.

In a statement, Areslan indicated that it is not allowed, under any pretext, to doubt the military and security apparatuses' role, and therefore urged all parties to wait for the Judicial Investigating Committee's findings on current events.
Also, he urged the Lebanese people in Akkar, North, Beirut, and all Lebanon to stay alert at this point from the dangers targeting stability and civil peace, which were the result of sectarian incitement triggered among the Lebanese.

Areslan concluded his statement confirming that what happened in Tariq al-Jdideh Sunday night, including clashes and cutting roads, are dangerous indications that the conflict sought to target the state's pillars, and cause civil war is being achieved.
Moreover, head of the Lebanese Democratic Party urged Lebanese President Michel Suleiman to call for convening at the dialogue table. Areslan stressed that all politicians and leaderships should interact with dialogue, had they really wanted to save Lebanon and contain the crisis before it causes Lebanon's explosion.
