Former head of Aman, Amos Yadlin, said yesterday evening that the military action against Iran is less dangerous to "Israel" than if Iran obtains a nuclear bomb.
Speaking at the annual conference of the Institute for National Security Studies in Tel Aviv, Yadlin said that, " Attacking Iran would be less dangerous for "Israel" than a nuclear Iran, but we need to work out a strategic plan not only for the attack itself but also for the day after the attack."
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister Silvan Shalom said in an interview with Army Radio last night, that "all procedures taken to thwart the nuclear program are of course blessed, and in our opinion this program is still valid as long as there is enrichment of uranium whether 3.5% or 20%, and there is no dismantling of the facility located underground in Qom."
According to his words," Iran has been flouting the world for years, and its aim is to acquire the bomb. "It is the insurance policy for the existence of the system, and it helps in reviving the Persian Empire to be a one of the world powers."
Shalom said "the whole world knows that Iran is not Israel's problem only, but the problem of the whole world."
"The regime is trying to develop long-range missiles, such as those capable of reaching beyond "Israel" to all European capitals, which pose a real threat to everyone," adding, "We have to appreciate the recent imposed sanctions - sanctions lifting oil prices in the time Europe is going through a rough economic situation." Shalom has stated that "what can be done, and did not occur so far, is imposing sanctions on the Central Bank of Iran which will lead to the collapse of the entire Iranian economy."

The computer virus that attacked Iran again allowed us to have a glimpse at the war of the future: spyware instead of agents, dangerous viruses instead of assassination operations, secret tasks instead of random street fights. "Flame" virus that was exposed last week, is made for this.
It is true that the Russian Kaspersky company, one of the leading companies in the protection of computers around the world, has claimed credit for decoding the virus, but anyone versed in this field knows that they have done lots of thinking. For three years, since 2007, Flame virus penetrated into hundreds of protected computers.
It has beaten 43 advanced protective programs without being exposed. It is a spyware that recorded voices, captured pictures, and sent all the data to his operators, while being unexposed. It was first spotted in March 2010, and it took dozens of specialists from Kaspersky and more than 2 years to decode it. Now the company announces that it might take one more year, to decode it entirely.
Without any doubt, and just like Stuxnet, Flame is one of the most powerful malwares. Cyber experts estimated that a staff of 100 people fabricated Flame, under an official patronage. Apparently, the virus was spread via a USB, and it only attacks encrypted computers and then moves to others. Same estimates say that Flame malware has done its job way before being decoded.
In this new world, "Israel" is key role player. With or without Stuxnet and
Flame, we are one of the most advanced in the cyber world, next to China, USA and Russia. These advanced skills can attain "Israel" data without launching any war, and will thwart the nuclear program, or at least will allow us to fight against it in a better way.
That's why, Unit 8200 and Mossad are no lower than the soldiers of elite units, and sometimes they takeover without any physical confrontation leaving the other party stunned, exposed and powerless.
In fact, all the speeches we heard related to this matter are frivolous and harmful. In this war, Computers shall do the talking not Ministers. With all due respect for their speeches and show off, this extraordinary 20 Mb task knows how things work much better than them.

"IDF" Dispersing Spare Parts Kits in North

Fearing a missile onslaught in a future war, the "IDF" is dispersing kits with spare parts throughout northern Israel that can rapidly be deployed to the front lines of a battlefield.
The corps has purposely dispersed the kits in undisclosed locations throughout the Golan Heights and the Galilee so they will be close to the northern front in the event of a war and at the same time provide protection from potential missile fire, expected to be directed at "IDF" bases.
The distribution of the kits was done as part of an overall "IDF" effort to retain what the military calls "operational continuity" in a future war against Hizbullah or Syria.
"During a future war, the enemy will target "IDF" bases in an effort to prevent the drafting of reservists and the equipping of units," a senior officer explained.
The kits are comprised of spare parts, mostly required by armored units and forces traveling in armored personnel carriers.
"We expect that it will take time before we will be able to move these parts to the front and therefore a unit will have them nearby if they are needed," another officer said.
The Ordnance Corps is also looking to upgrade its tank recovery capabilities with a new platform called the M88I, which would be better equipped to rescue damaged Merkava tanks in a future war.
The army currently uses an older version of the M88 from the 1970s that has difficulty lifting the military's latest Merkava Mk 4 tank. The recovery vehicles are viewed as a critical platform for the "IDF" - which is concerned about the better quality of Russian-made anti-tank missiles that Hizbullah, Hamas and Syria have obtained in recent years.
