Berri: Baabda Meeting Stressed Support to Army’s Role, Enhancing it
After Wednesday's weekly parliamentary meeting, Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri expressed optimism regarding the files agreed upon with the government, especially on the level of enhancing the latter's performance.
According to members of parliament present at the meeting, Berri referred that Tuesday night's presidential meeting in Baabda, reaffirmed the importance of understanding in order to encourage the government's performance on all files, including the spending file, to be resolved in the legal framework.
Also, parliamentary sources added that the meeting tackled "hasting the budget draft law implementation."
Moreover, the sources added that the presidential meeting embraces discussions on many issues, including the support to the army's role and methods of enhancing it, and tackling, by all means, the security situation and tension, especially in Tripoli, in order to protect this dear city.
In addition, sides of the meeting agreed on the importance of conducting appointments, in accordance with the mechanism set in this regard.
