STL Exceeds Lebanese Laws, Derives Aid from “Israeli” Courts to Prove Legitimacy

Counter to all Lebanese sovereignty laws and regulations, especially regarding Lebanon's enmity with the Zionist entity, the Special Tribunal for Lebanon's (STL) General Prosecutor, Norman Farrell, used "Israeli" reference to prove the STL's so-called legitimacy.
Farrell's notice, raised last Wednesday to the appeals chamber, in response to the defense's appeal into the STL's legitimacy, stated that the "tribunal's chamber should reject the defense pretences over the violation of Lebanon's sovereignty, because it has no authority to present it; yet this authority is exclusive to the Lebanese Republic."
In an attempt to confirm the validity of the aforementioned, Farrell referred to several references, including; "al-Quds (Jerusalem) Tribunal, the "Israel" vs. Eichmann trial, 36 - 1961, documented in the "Israeli" Supreme Court," in an attempt to annul the defense's doubt in its legitimacy.
It's worth mentioning that among the employees in the STL Prosecutor's office, there are many Lebanese personnel, including Deputy Prosecutor-General, Judge Jocelyn Tabet. This issue raised question to the leniency in referring to "Israeli" references, while Lebanon does not acknowledge the legitimacy of the "Israeli" courts to begin with.
On this level, al-Akhbar daily asserted that referring to "Israeli" courts as a reference in an official text issued by the STL Prosecutor General, is a contribution to the normalization with "Israel"; a notion which violates the Lebanese law.
Also, the daily indicated that the first paradox lays in that the STL claims, in its regulations, that it abides by the Lebanese law. However, the pillars of the General Prosecutor's office, including the Lebanese Judge, neglected the fact that "Israel" is Lebanon's enemy, and therefore all laws related to the enemy are expected to be implemented, including not acknowledging sentences issued by its courts, or even referring to them.
However, al-Akhbar added that the second paradox rests in the fact that the General Prosecutor's office adduces to "Israeli" courts, after convicting four resistance elements in Hizbullah of involvement in former PM Rafik Hariri's assassination.
In response, the figures circulating Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, preferred not to respond to the STL General Prosecutor accusation of violating the law, and stressed abidance to respect the constitution.
