Ghosn Hails National Dialogue, Gov’t’s New Launch: No Alternative to LA
In a statement he issued after his meeting with the Commander of the United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL), General Paolo Serra, Ghosn stressed that "this stability is the natural result of the coordination between the Lebanese Army and UNIFIL as well as the people's cooperation in the villages and towns with these forces."

Serra briefed Ghosn on the tasks carried out by the UNIFIL in cooperation with the LA to implement UN resolution 1701.
In parallel, the minister expressed his satisfaction with the stability that highlighted the domestic arena after the convening of the national dialogue.
"This was reflected positively on the Lebanese citizens," Ghosn stated and confirmed that "there is no alternative to dialogue between the components of the Lebanese people."

He further stressed that "neither barricades solve differences nor high positions eliminate disparities."
"The positive atmosphere that spread in Lebanon after the convening of the national dialogue was enough to return tranquility to people," Ghosn added as he hoped that "this atmosphere continues in the coming days."
He also highlighted that "this atmosphere coincided with the launch of the governmental wheel again, which will have its positive consequences on the overall situation, particularly the economic and living conditions."

In this context, Ghosn assured that "the new governmental launch will continue and won't stop," and he urged all sides " to follow up the government's performance with more unity and solidarity rather than putting sticks to target its work."

On the security level, Ghosn viewed "the recent events, that the country passed through, led to a general conviction that there is no alternative to the national army especially in the critical situation our region is witnessing."

"Wisdom, logic, and national responsibility require more support for this military institution that carries the burden of protecting all the components of the country," he affirmed.

The minister concluded that "the eyes of the army remain vigilant to protect the security of the country and its people as well as to stand as a firm barrier against any frivolous with the national security and civil peace."
