Sayyed Safieddine: Resistance Never Pressured by Incitement Campaigns
Head of Hizbullah Executive Council, His Eminence Sayyed Hashem Safieddine confirmed that since its existence, Hizbullah has been warning against sectarian incitement and its conventional rhetoric used in the past, present, and future , of which all the Lebanese are well aware.
"Hizbullah raises the banner of Islamic and National unity, because it confronts the "Israeli" enemy which seeks to destroy Lebanon's power, and aims to lead the country into sectarian and personal conflicts," Sayyed Safieddine stated.
"Fragmenting Lebanon is the first goal of "Israel", the US, and the West," His Eminence iterated.
He added, "We have always warned from sectarian conflict and sectarian rhetoric. We have always warned that the outcome of this sectarian incitement will reflect on its perpetrator."
Sayyed Safieddine indicated that what's happening today in Lebanon is the result of this incitement, [...] yet confirmed that Lebanon was able to overcome all conflicts in the past, and will continue to do so during the current stage.
"We have no doubt that the Lebanese people will overcome the stage Lebanon witnesses," Head of Hizbullah Executive Council went on to say.
Also, he indicated that another reason behind the dilemmas in Lebanon is some parties' insistence on including Lebanon in every detail related to the Syrian crisis, on the basis that Lebanon should be a platform to target the Syrian regime.
"Lebanon should stay away from any event or rhetoric that leads it to sectarian strife and division; it needs to tackle its priority concerns," Sayyed Safieddine noted.
"If we ask the Lebanese what are their priorities and demands to the Lebanese government, they would clearly state: we want security, stability, tackling the livelihood and economic problems, and the electricity dilemma... etc," His Eminence further said.
Moreover, His Eminence stated that "what we heard yesterday from the religious and political figures in Saida is a positive stance. First, it protects Saida. Second, it places Saida in its historic position among its people and resistance fighters; as Saida is a basic point from where the resistance was launched. Third, this logic protects all the country and everyone in the future."
Regarding the ongoing campaign against the resistance and its weapons, Sayyed Safieddine stressed, "If the goal behind this is to pressure the resistance by such atmosphere of incitement, insults, direct and indirect attacks, the resistance will not be pressured by this "illogical and unreal" reason."
"Those who want to talk about the country and its future should come to discuss it in its natural and true framework, which is where we are discussing the defense strategy," His Eminence also said.
"Although some doubted this defense strategy, yet it is an effective defense strategy we are talking about. We employed [the defense strategy] in protecting Lebanon, in defeating the "Israeli" enemy, keeping Lebanon powerful, and indeed it remained immunized [in face of the Zionist entity]," Head of Hizbullah Executive Council concluded.
