Commenting on the call of US Senator John McCain to initiate a buffer zone in Northern Lebanon, Hizbullah issued the following statement:
A Flagrant Violation, Rude Intervention in Lebanon
During his visit to Muarab [Head of Lebanese Forces Samir Geagea's residence], US Senator John McCain called Lebanon to establish a buffer zone in the northern territories so that it would turn into launching point and a base for intervention in Syria.

This resembles a flagrant violation and rude intervention in the Lebanese sovereignty and internal affairs.

This intervention contrasts completely with the policy of self-distancing proclaimed by the Lebanese government. This policy is supposed to be in the interest of Lebanon and the Lebanese.

Hizbullah views McCain's statements as a practical translation to US dictates as well as to its policy of intervening in other countries affairs and the attempts to impose policies that contradict with the interests of other countries.

The party urges the competent official authorities to raise their voices against the US intervention and to make Washington fully understand that Lebanon is neither a US reserve nor a "banana" republic that allows the US administration to draw its foreign policy or interfere in it at any time
