Proper Treatment for Religious Figures, End All Undemocratic Measures

Commenting on the Saudi authorities arrest to His Eminence Sheikh Nemr al-Nemer, Hizbullah issued the following statement:

Hizbullah expresses its deep concern and pain over Saudi authorities' attack against religious figures, the latest of which was the arrest of Sheikh Nemer al-Nemer, not for a crime he committed but because of his demand for minimum level of civil rights that the international laws stipulate.

Sheikh al-Nemer was also arrested for his calls to the Saudi authorities to abandon the policy of discrimination among citizens.

Hizbullah strongly condemns the arrest of Sheikh Nemer Baqer al-Nemer. It also condemns the security forces violence against peaceful demonstrators in the town of al-Awamiya and Qatif district which caused the fall of martyrs and injuries.

The party also demands the immediate release of Sheikh al-
Nemer and providing him with the proper treatment, as well as respecting religious figures and putting an end to all undemocratic measures in dealing with the peaceful and legitimate demands of Saudi citizens.
