Bahrain Interior Minister Orders Investigation of Hizbullah Activities

In the systemized attack on Hizbullah to pave the way for enlisting it on the so-called terrorist organization list, the Bahraini Minister of Interior Rashid Bin Abdullah al-Khalifa issued directions to security forces on Wednesday to investigate Hizbullah activities in the kingdom and confine its interests.

The statement published on the official website of the ministry pointed out that "the Minister of Interior Lt-General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah al-Khalifa has directed investigators to examine possible Hizbullah activity in the Kingdom, including financial investments, commercial and economic activity, operations that masquerade as charities, bank accounts, money transfers and individual members of the organization, to take the required legal action."

"The investigations will be part of the steps being taken as a result of designating Hizbullah as a terrorist organization by Bahrain. This also coincides with the GCC's recent announcement that member countries will consider Hizbullah as a terrorist organization and will look into their activities in the Gulf region."
