Iranian FM Spokesperson: Saudi FMˈs Comments Full of Contradiction

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Abbas Araqchi, in response to the Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal's comments on Iran's interference in Syria, said that the latter's comments are full of self-contradiction.

"Repetitious claim on Iran's interference in Syria is made under such conditions that Saudi Arabia is today arming the Takfiri terrorists in Syria with different types of light and heavy weapons, and is an accomplice in committing crimes against the defenseless Syrian citizens," Araqchi stated on Friday in an interview with Iran's News Agency IRNA.

Moreover, he said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a great country with extraordinary potentials that can be used for promoting unity and solidarity among Muslim societies and solving problems that the Islamic world suffers.

The Iranian FM spokesman expressed hope that Iran's efforts in seeking a peaceful solution for the Syrian crisis would be responded positively by Riyadh.
