Larijani: EU’s Decision to Blacklist Hizbullah Ridiculous, Hideous

Iranian House Speaker Ali Larijani slammed Wednesday the EU blacklisting of the military wing of Hizbullah, describing the move as "ridiculous and reactionary".
"The ridiculous and reactionary move shows the European countries' concern about Hizbullah's leading role in the fight against the enemies of Islam," Larijani said, addressing an open session of the parliament in Tehran.
In parallel, the Iranian official condemned "the EU's hideous political action" in listing Hizbullah as a terrorist organization.
"We announce loudly that we wholeheartedly support the hero and Mujahidin of Hizbullah in all dimensions," Larijani confirmed.
In relevant remarks on Tuesday, the Iranian foreign ministry also deplored the European Union's measure against Hizbullah, calling it a "completely undigested and highly surprising act".
"Hizbullah is part of Lebanon's political structure which is present in the country's political and social arenas and is respected and accepted by the Lebanese, regional and the Muslim world people," Foreign Ministry Spokesman Sayyed Abbas Araqchi said in his weekly press conference in Tehran.
"Putting the name of the group in the list of terrorist groups was a completely undigested and highly surprising measure by the EU," he added.
"We denounce this act and stress that it will not make any change in Hizbullah's right-seeking nature and struggle," Araqchi said, adding that the EU measure was taken in line with the interests of the Zionist regime and will further complicate the crisis in the Middle-East.
EU governments on Monday agreed to list the armed wing of Hizbullah as a terrorist group.
