"There is a plot to weaken the Syrian Army and people in order to strike the resistance's stronghold and compensate "Israeli" loss," he argued. "What Syria faces currently is related with confrontation against the "Israeli" enemy."

"The West realized that Syria will not fall in spite of all the destruction and killing," the Syrian Ambassador remarked, reiterating, "Syria's victory is coming."

On another note, Ali stressed that the Russian-Syrian ties are long-term and there is a friendship and cooperation between the two.

Regarding the Geneva conference, the Syrian Ambassador Ali noted that its aim is for "Russia to be less firm in its stances so that the United States could maintain its dignity."
