Iranian Official Announces Manufacture of Advanced Fighter Jet

The Iranian Defense Ministry's Iranian Air Force and Aviation Industries Organization are jointly manufacturing an advanced fighter jet, a military official said.

The news was announced by the Air Force Deputy Commander for Coordination Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh on Wednesday.

"Manufacturing this military aircraft will make us fully needless of purchasing jet fighters from abroad, especially for training purposes," General Nasirzadeh stated.

"We have taken very good measures in producing aircraft ammunition, long-range ammunition and smart missiles," he added.

The former Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi had announced earlier this year that new home-made defensive products are expected to be inaugurated in the near future.

In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in the defense sector and gained self-sufficiency in essential military hardware and defense systems.
