"Israeli" warplanes struck Friday's dawn al-Nameh region, south of the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
An official with the Palestinian Front for the Liberation of Palestine - General Command told that the region some 15 kilometers south of Beirut, was hit in the air strike.
The PFLP-GC maintains facilities in the area and Lebanon's National News Agency said a base - a network of underground tunnels - belonging to the group was hit in the attack.
The Front's spokesman in Lebanon, Abu Imad Ramez Mustafa confirmed that the "Israeli" aim of this strike is to sew sectarian discord between the Lebanese and the Palestinians.
He further detailed that "at 4:00 AM, the enemy hit our bases with one missile. However, there were no causalities."
In an interview with al-Ahed news, Mustafa expressed his surprise with the "Israeli" claim that the strike came in response to Thursday rockets from Lebanon.
"The Abdullah Azzam Brigades are responsible for the rockets, not the PFLP-GC ," he clarified, affirming that "the resistance is on top of the priorities."
"Israel" claimed the attack was in retaliation for Thursday's rocket from Lebanon into the Zionist entity.
An "Israeli" army statement said: "the air force targeted a "terror" site located between Beirut and Sidon in response to a barrage of four rockets launched at northern "Israel"."
"Anyone who harms us, or tries to harm us, should know -- we will strike them," "Israeli" Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a televised address.
However, Mustafa viewed that "launching missiles into occupied Palestine at this particular time raises many questions."
"The "Israeli" enemy seeks to escalate tension on the Lebanese arena. Through its raid, the Zionist entity sought to pressure on the Lebanese government through raising the claims that Palestinian groups are outside the Lebanese sovereignty and law."
