Berri accuses the so-called majority of obstructing solutions

Speaker Nabih Berri said he is convinced that the 10-10-10 power-sharing formula for the establishment of a national-unity government is still the most appropriate solution.
While expressing hope that the coming days bring positive developments, Berri accused the majority of obstructing solutions.
"The 10-10-10 formula is not related to or in conflict with the Taif Agreement," Berri told the Lebanese daily As-Safir.
"This formula is not against the Sunni, for neither the majority nor the opposition will be represented by one sect. Merely accepting it is a compromise by the opposition," he added.
He also noted that the Lebanese are going through delicate and exceptional circumstances, "and the 10-10-10 formula is the balanced solution."
He also accused the majority of suggesting the formula and then rejecting it along with the casa-based electoral law as was mentioned in the 1960 electoral law.
