"Israel" martyred martyred three Palestinians late Tuesday near al-Khalil in the occupied West Bank.
"Israeli" Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld stated that the Palestinians were in a car near al-Khalil when the "Israeli" army responded by shooting and killing them.
Rosenfeld claimed explosive devices were found in the vehicle. He said a security operation was ongoing in the al-Khalil area.
"The Palestinians were members of a Salafi Jihad "terrorist" cell that was planning an attack in the coming days. At the moment operations are continuing in that area," Rosenfeld said.
Locals identified the three martyrs as Moussa Mohammad Moussa Makhamra, Mahmoud Khalid al-Najjar, and Mohammad Fouad Jamil Nairoukh.
In a statement, the "Israeli" army claimed they also planned to target the Palestinian Authority.
"Investigations indicate that the members of the network were planning different terror attacks against Israeli targets and against the Palestinian Authority," the statement said.
He further stated: "The past few months the members of the terrorist network acted to organize an expanded "terror" infrastructure which included preparing and manufacturing explosives, purchasing weapons and arranging an apartment for hiding."
"The "Israeli" army said the shootings occurred shortly after soldiers arrested members of the "terrorist network" elsewhere in the West Bank.
"Operational access combined with quality intelligence gives us the upper hand on these evildoers and their beastly intentions. It is our obligation to prevent them from fulfilling their detestable fantasies."
