Al-Assad Hails Iran’s Nuclear Deal

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad hailed Wednesday Iran's success in the nuclear deal, stressing that "it is the result of Iranian people's resistance."
According to the Syrian television, al-Assad told his Iranian counterpart that Iran's diplomatic success in talks with the Group 5+1 in Geneva, was the result of the Iraniansˈ resistance in achieving their rights and the Iranian leadership's commitment to the principles of Iran's sovereignty."
"The success also shows the strong position of Iranian leadership in making independent decisions," he added.
The Syrian president said the achievement comes to enshrine the right of developing countries in acquiring peaceful nuclear energy, adding that the achievement bolsters Iran's regional and international position.
He further stated that Iran's achievement will reflect on Syria due to the strategic relation between the two countries.
For his part, the Iranian President, Rouhani, reiterated Iran's standing by Syria in its war against terrorism , hoping that peace would prevail all over Syria.
The deal followed a decade of deadlock and was finally struck between Iran and the so-called P5+1 group of the United States, Britain, France, China and Russia plus Germany.
